Packing List: What to bring

When you come to the remote book cliffs you can use this list as a guide to the things you might need for a safe and comfortable trip. Please coordinate with us if you can so we can utilize your visit to facilitate our supply access and plan to show you around.

Packing List for Weekend Visitors

Sleeping/Shelter

  • Sleeping bag or warm blankets, or both
  • A sleeping pad (provides insulation from cold ground as well as comfort)
  • Tent, Truck Camper, or other shelter
  • Pillow (optional)

Clothing

  • Sun Hat
  • Warm Hat
  • Comfortable pants
  • 2nd layer of pants for warmth
  • T-Shirts
  • Long Sleeve Shirt
  • Thermal Shirt
  • Warm Jacket
  • Wind-resistant layer
  • Long underwear pants
  • Warm Socks
  • Underwear
  • Sturdy, comfortable shoes (tennis shoes ok – boots preferable earlier in the spring, when it can be muddy)

Food and Water

  • 2 full water bottles
  • Additional water source (1 gallon jug per person per day)
  • you can refill water at PR Springs but have some with you.
  • Dense, nutritious, and simple food

  • Toilet Paper
  • Backpack for short hikes
  • Camp chair
  • Personal toiletries
  • Needed medications
