April 12-15: Join us at PR Springs Camp out

Now more than ever we need to make our presence and concern known at PR Springs. We will witness the fractured wilderness and protect every inch we can because our air, water, land and all life cannot survive this poisonous project!

Come and join us.

April 12-15th. Get details.

We will camp in the BLM camp ground near PR Springs located near the PR Spring Tar Sand Strip Mine Test Pit.

From Salt Lake City we travel east on US 40 past Roosevelt and then south to the beautiful Book Cliffs, site of the proposed PR Springs tar sands strip mine. We explore the areas that have been bulldozed and photograph areas where test drilling has begun. We will explore and document this vibrant wilderness area in order to gain respect and understanding of the lands our government is bent on exploiting. We will be noting the progress from last year and current activity at the test pit.

This particular land is administered by SITLA and has been leased to a Canadian company to mine for Tar sands. Their is a near by camp ground called PR Springs on BLM land with a historic SPRING (plenty of potable water!).

We will also spend time as a group teaching each other about the issues with tar sands and other fossil fuel extraction in remote wilderness areas. We are continuing to build support to stop this mine from ever getting started. Also we will be relaxing and enjoying the High desert of eastern Utah.
